Mary Keane Chapel at the Enfield Shaker Museum
Route 4A, Enfield, NH
The Upper Valley Singers, with directors Hal Sheeler and Henry Danaher, will present a summer concert at Mary Keane Chapel. These singers come together each summer from around the Upper Valley to perform in Mary Keane Chapel which, with its outstanding pipe organ and its visual and acoustical beauty, is itself an important part of the performance.
The program:
Louis Vierne • Messe Solennelle
Josef Rheinberger • Abendlied
Johannes Brahms • Geistliches Lied
Stephen Paulus • Hymn To the Eternal Flame
Franz Biebl • Ave Maria
Karl Jenkins • Locus Iste
The Mary Keane Chapel was built by the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette between 1930 and 1931 to designs by Donat R. Baribault of Springfield, Massachusetts. The sanctuary features spectacular German stained glass produced by the Zettler Studios, as well as a renowned Casavant organ that will be showcased in this performance.
Admission is by donation ($15–20 suggested), which will help support the preservation of Mary Keane Chapel.
