New Sculpture Classes, AVA Gallery and Art Center, Lebanon

AVA’s Sculptural Studies Program is proud to announce the addition of several new sculptural studies courses to be offered in our Winter 2020 session. These exciting additions will take place in our fabulous sculptural studies building, as well as select off-site locations.

For drawing enthusiasts and others, Sculpting Portraits in Clay and Plaster will strengthen skills in observation and understanding of form, while inspiring working in traditional sculpting media. This class, taught by Sande French Stockwell, can be enjoyed at a master’s level and is still accessible to the beginner. Register for Sculpting Portraits now.
Hand-building with Clay is taught by local clay artist Karen Rothwell. This class will expand one’s repertoire beyond wheel-thrown pottery and act as a springboard to making alternative forms in clay. All levels. Register for Hand-building with Clay now.
Flameworking Fanciful Glass Beads: Discover the art of lampwork bead making, a delightful decorative art. Stefania Urist adds her fiery flamework to our expanding mix of courses. All levels welcome. Register for Glass Beads now.
In Design, Shape, Texture & Build: Wood Scuplture, taught by Jay Singh, you’ll learn the fundamentals of fine woodworking and transfer these skills to the construction of wood sculpture.
