Learn Reduction Woodcut with Dan Gottsegen
Saturday and Sunday, January 27 – 28, 10am – 4pm
$195 plus $20 materials fee

In this workshop participants will learn the technique of creating multiple (essentially limitless) color relief prints from a single block. By continuing to work the block and making repeat “drops” (layers of color), the printmaker can make works of endless variety and color richness. An understanding of simultaneous contrast of color and other aspects of color theory are essential for reduction printing and we will cover these in the workshop. We will also explore a variety of kinds of mark making that allow the creation of prints of very different feeling (as well looking at examples of this technique from history).

This workshop is open to all levels.
