Exhibition Manager

AVA Gallery and Art Center seeks a full time Exhibition Manager to engage a diverse community of artists, art patrons, gallery visitors, interns and volunteers. The position requires, but is not limited to:

-the ability to work with the Exhibition Committee to identify, engage, and mentor artists who individually or collectively enrich the exhibition program

-the ability to manage the logistics of exhibition preparations and installations

-planning and implementation of exhibition exhibition related promotional materials

-planning of opening receptions, artists talks, and special fundraising events involving art sales

A background in art and/or arts administration is preferable, as is an understanding of nonprofit arts management along with a strong writing and verbal communication skills and experience using database software involving scheduling, inventory and sales. AVA is a dynamic community arts organization with a small number of employees, requiring flexibility and cooperation among all staff.
