First Friday Artist Talk

10:00AM, DHMC Aud. A

Did you ever wonder how the DHMC moose was created or how artists work with large canvases or what inspires them? D-H Arts is offering monthly “Artist Talks” by local and regional artists about their works on display at DHMC.  After each talk, participants will be encouraged to take a walk and view the artwork. Walking while enjoying artwork can be good for your mind and body. ContactAgingCenter@hitchcock.org or call 603.653.3460 for more information or to sign up.

Perspectives: Looking at Art

10-11:30AM, DHMC Aud. D

Perspectives offers an opportunity for individuals with memory disorders and their care partners to visit the world-class work by local and regional artists currently featured at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. Looking at art is an activity that can be especially enjoyable and beneficial to those with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory disorders. Art-viewing utilizes areas of the brain unaffected by the disease; it can stimulate thoughts, reactions and emotions with minimal reliance on recent memory. Both the care partner and the person with dementia should register. Contact AgingCenter@hitchcock.org or call 603.653.3460 for more information or to sign up.
