AVA Juried Award Winners, Friday, July 20, Lebanon

The 2017 Juried Show Award Winners, featuring work by Bruce Blanchette, Helen Shulman, and Susan Wilson.

This exhibition is on display from July 20 through August 24, 2018 throughout AVA’s first-floor galleries. All three artists will participate in an Artist Panel Discussion on Friday, July 20 at 4pm before the opening reception begins at 5pm. Both the discussion and reception are free and open to the public.

The 2017 Juried Summer Exhibition juror was John Stomberg, Virginia Rice Kelsey 1961s Director of the Hood Museum of Art.

Bruce Blanchette, of Walpole, New Hampshire, has taught art in the public schools for 20 years and was an adjunct professor of art at Keene State College for a dozen more.  He is showing invented artifacts.

Helen Shulman, a long time AVA artist, paints in oils with cold wax medium and incorporates other materials into her abstract works.

Susan Wilson retired to Putney, Vermont after a 30-year career of teaching in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey and doing justice work. Now working with clay

AVA Gallery and Art Center is delighted to host a panel discussion with all three artists at 4pm on Friday, July 20.

This will be an opportunity to learn more about these award-winning artists and their practice. The panel will be moderated by AVA Exhibition Manager, Mila Pinigin, and audience participation is encouraged.
