Want to Revel? There are many ways!

Revels Singers

Revels Singers is an un-auditioned community chorus for everyone who loves to sing. Participants will explore choral repertoire from around the world, hone musical skills, build community through harmony, and enrich the singing experience by dancing together.

For members so inclined, there are opportunities to perform, in which we represent the Revels organization, and spread the spirit of celebration for which Revels is known.

Registration for Revels Singers includes participation in all Revels Traditions programs: Band of Fools, Revels Mummers, and Revels Teens (for those who qualify).

Revels Teens

Our year-round Revels Teens Program is an auditioned ensemble for young adults age 12 or older. Monthly workshops, conducted by Teens Program Director Lynn Mahoney Rowan, and performing opportunities encourage teens to celebrate their individual voices in a supportive, non-competitive inclusive environment. Youth leadership, vocal and musical skills, community outreach, stagecraft, dance, exploring world cultures and traditions, and connecting with the natural world are integral parts of the group’s mission.

Registration for Revels Teens includes participation in all Revels Traditions programs: Band of Fools, Revels Mummers, and Revels Singers.

Band of Fools

The Band of Fools is an all-ages musical ensemble modeled on the community street band, where people come together to have fun making music. With guidance from Artistic Director Nils Fredland and Band of Fools Director Pat MacPherson, and with whatever instruments players choose to bring, we will play tunes and create arrangements to support dancing, singing, and parading.

No music reading necessary. Bring your fiddle, kazoo, drum bass, sousaphone, jaw harp, or banjo–or anything, really–and get ready for a wild musical journey, led by a team of experienced traditional musicians who like to think outside the box!

Registration for the Band of Fools includes participation in all Revels Traditions programs: Revels Singers, Revels Mummers, and Revels Teens (for those who qualify).

Family Contra Dance

The Revels Seasonal Family Contra Dance is an all-inclusive, no experience necessary, smile-inducing evening of joyful community dancing with live music provided by traditional musicians from the Upper Valley and beyond, and hosted by a dance caller who will help you feel confident and comfortable as you move your feet. The caller explains how the dance flows, helps the dancers “walk through” the steps before the music starts, and continues calling out instructions throughout the dance.

Dress lightly, wear your most comfortable pair of flat-soled shoes, grab your family, and come join us for an unforgettable evening of music and movement!
