Tom Leytham – Hiding in Plain Sight, Opening: Friday, June 8th, 5-7pm, AVA Gallery

Hiding in Plain Sight, an exhibition of fascinating watercolor paintings by artist Tom Leytham at AVA GAllery

Opening Friday, June 8th, 5-7PM

Artist Talk, Thursday, June 14th, 5PM

For Leytham, an architect and professor at Norwich University, describing form and light has been a lifelong artistic passion. In this work we see mills, granaries, mines, factories, barns, bridges, and tractors seemingly suspended in this tension between drawing and design. The Vermont State Art Collection has acquired five of Leytham’s watercolor painting. David Schultz, the Vermont State Curator, was drawn to the “ephemeral nature of this built landscape of structures.”

Leytham’s paintings will be exhibited in the Elizabeth Rowland Mayor Gallery at AVA Gallery and Art Center from June 8 – July 6, 2018. The opening reception will take place on Friday, June 8th from 5pm-7pm. To learn more about Tom Leytham attend his artist talk on Thursday, June 14th at 5pm. The opening reception and artist talk are free and open to the public.
