AVA Gallery and Art Center (AVA / Alliance for the Visual Arts), located at 11 Bank Street in Lebanon, NH, is pleased to announce that registration has begun for Spring and Summer 2016 Art Camps, Classes, and Workshops for Children, Teens, and Adults. AVA’s Spring and Summer 2016 print publication with complete details will be released on Saturday, March 12.

AVA’s Spring and Summer 2016 educational offerings build on our core programs in drawing, painting, and sculpture and expand into new creative disciplines like digital media and public art.  Class formats include one-day workshops, weekend workshops, weeklong art camps, and weekly sessions that meet during daytime or evening hours.  AVA’s Scholarship Fund provides opportunities for deserving individuals of all ages, abilities, and creative inclinations to participate in our programming.

Here’s a quick snapshot of the scope of AVA’s upcoming arts offerings:

·         The Spring 2016 program consists of 46 offerings, including art camps, classes, and workshops.

·         The Summer 2016 program consists of 63 offerings, including classes, workshops, and 39 Summer Art Camps for Children and Teens.

·         The AVA Faculty is comprised of 53 regional artists.

·         Partnerships with the Dartmouth Aging Resource Center, the Upper Valley Senior Center, the Upper Valley Land Trust, Special Needs Support Centerthe Enfield Shaker Museum, as well as the Dartmouth College Biology, Architecture, and Computer Science Departments, the Upper Valley Music CenterCrossroads Academy, the Valley News and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth will contribute to providing rich experiences for art enthusiasts of all ages.

The Spring 2016 afterschool offerings for children include Puppet Circus, Calligraphy for Kids, Spring into Design and Robotics.  Spring Vacation Art Camps will be held for children aged 5-8, 9-12, as well as teens during the week of April 11-15. 

The Spring 2016 classes and workshops for adults and teens include: Digital Photography Basics, Evening Basic Drawing, Introduction to Photoshop Lightroom, Roman Mosaics, Mixed-Media Painting andMobile Construction.

Weeklong Summer 2016 CAOS (Community Arts Open Studio) and Art Camps for children and teens begin June 27 and run through August 26.  A selection of the art camps for children aged 5-8 areAncient Egypt, Outer Space, Cardboard Cities, Doll Making, and Surrealism.  Some of the art camps for children aged 9-12 are Cartooning, Planetarium, Robotics, RIPE!, and Sound, Color: Musical Magic!. Teen camps includeSelfie!, Pastels, Stop-Motion Animation for iPhone and iPad, and the 5th Annual Greg Hemberger Sustainable Architecture Workshop.

Summer 2016 classes and workshops for adults include: Daytime Open Studio, The Figure in Color, Basics of Sculpture and Casting and Introduction to Digital Photography.
