“Care Package” performance by Kyoung Eun Kang

September 22, 8pm-9pm

Please join us for the performance of CARE PACKAGE a new work by Korean multimedia artist Kyoung Eun Kang. Working with simple materials such as stones collected from a river where she grew up or gifts sent from her mother through the mail, Kang creates complex happenings layered with insight into nostalgia, family longing, and the translations made in cross cultural exchanges. Kang’s performances are often subtle, engaging in interventions to focus attention on interactions that, although abstract in nature, are filled with a connection to our essential humanity.

Kyoung Eun Kang was born in South Korea and currently lives in New York. Her work ranges in media from traditional painting and drawing to live performance, video, sound, and installation. Kang’s work has been shown in solo exhibitions at: NURTUREart, Brooklyn, NY; BRIC project room, Brooklyn, NY; Here Arts Center, NY;PRIMETIME, Brooklyn, NY; and at the Contemporary Museum of Hong-ik University,Seoul, South Korea.
The Aidron Duckworth Art Museum will open at 7pm for refreshments and for the public to view the current exhibitions – FOREST RECOLLECTION, by Joseph Salerno and TRANSPARENT BODIES, by Aidron Duckworth. CARE PACKAGE will be performed at 8pm. This event is FREE and open to all ages.
