LOVE AT FIRST BITE, Nov 2-4, Lebanon Opera House

Trumbull Hall Troupe Presents

Friday-Saturday, November 2-3, 7PM ,  Sunday, November 4, 3PM

Lebanon Opera House

For 2018, Trumbull Hall Troupe goes to high school with a story about how being different is something to be celebrated.

Performing an original musical by best-selling author Jodi Picoult with music composed by Bluegrass musician and Indian River School band teacher Ellen Wilber,

LOVE AT FIRST BITE is about a teenage vampire hoping to fit in to a new school, and Lucy the girl of his dreams whose mom is the high school principal and a vampire hunter. Can Drake Yula outwit Principal Stake and Lucy’s vengeful ex-boyfriend? Only with the help of new friends – like exchange student Frank N. Stein and Scrappy, the hairy basketball player who has a thing for howling at the moon. Reinforcing the message that it’s normal to be different, LOVE AT FIRST BITE is a monstrously good time.

Trumbull Hall Troupe began in 2004 to provide kids with a fun, educational theatre experience that could also contribute to improving the lives of those less fortunate. The group has grown from a dozen kids on a stage with flashlights for spots in 2004 to a cast and crew of over 40 with performances at the Lebanon Opera House today.

Net proceeds from performances are donated to local charities that benefit children, including for 2018 the Zienzele Foundation, CHaD, and the Upper Valley Haven. In the past decade, the Troupe has donated over $120,000 to kids in need in the Upper Valley, and around the world.

In addition to donating money, the cast and crew personally work for the THT charities by providing theatre workshops to children from The Upper Valley Haven, being pen pals with AIDS orphans in Zimbabwe via the Zienzele Foundation, and participating in the annual CHaD Half and 5k event as runners and walkers and singing for racers before start.

The 2018 show is directed by Lanni Luce West, with music direction by Carol Cronce, and choreography by Allyson Weiner-Sawyer.
