Large Scale Solarplates with Dan Welden

Saturday and Sunday, January, 20 and 21, 10am – 4pm, & Monday, January 22, 9am – 12pm
$325 plus $30 materials fee (plates may be pre-ordered)

This specially designed workshop will be a unique adventure with ‘Larger Solarplates’ (12 x 16 and 16 x 20 inches). Dan will introduce you to the best tools for creating images on transparent film, and then how to transfer those images to a plate using UV light and ordinary tap water. Both positive and negatives can be utilized; intaglio and relief printing techniques can be applied. You will then explore the subtle and beautiful effects that can be realized by mixing oil and water based inks.
