Dartmouth College Wind Ensemble

Saturday, May 4,  8PM
Spaulding Auditorium, Hopkins Center for the Arts, Dartmouth College
A first for the Dartmouth College Wind Ensemble: Its spring concert will include a major work (23 minutes) written by a student. Adam Rinehouse ’19 is a dual computer science/music major who began working on this piece last spring. He was very inspired by the late composer David Maslanka, who did a residency with the ensemble a few years ago, not long before his untimely death. Maslanka used to start each morning by playing Bach chorales at the piano, and Adam decided to base his composition on a Bach chorale as a tribute to Maslanka.  We’re proud to see a young artist emerge at the college. Adam has played percussion in the DCWE all his on-campus terms.
