Announcing the Center for The Arts’ 2018 Winter Performing Arts Series at Whipple Hall, New London

January shows begin at 7PM

 

 January 13th  – North Country Chordsmen Concert

Enjoy an evening of high quality a cappella with popular music including ballads, upbeat tunes, specialty songs, and comedy, all in 4-part a cappella style known as “Barbershop.” Saturday, January 13th, at 7pm at Whipple Hall (on the corner of Main Street and Seamans Road) in New London.

January 27th  – MLK’s Children A production of the Alchemist Workshop

Presenting a Celebration of Martin Luther King Jr’s life and his work as seen through the eyes of his children and the the Hirshberg children (of Stonyfield yogurt) who they stayed with in N.H. the summer after the assassination.  Saturday, January 27th, at 7pm at Whipple Hall (on the corner of Main Street and Seamans Road) in New London.

February 10th – Open Mic with Kathy Lowe

Kathy Lowe plays all original songs on Guitar, Dulcimer, Percussion, and Pan Drum, and is joined by a variety of performers who gather to share song and word. Saturday, February 10th, at 7pm at Whipple Hall (on the corner of Main Street and Seamans Road) in New London.

February 17th –  “Kindness and Cruelty” Willa Cather in Jaffrey

A new musical by Will Ogmundson and Tom Dunn performed by Mary Niederkorn, Rachel Coffin, and Jocelyn Duford, on Saturday, February 17th, at 7pm at Whipple Hall (on the corner of Main Street and Seamans Road) in New London. Through song and story-telling this musical celebrates the Nobel winning author Willa Cather and the Monadnock Region as an inspiration for her work and artists of all types.

March 10th – Kearsarge Conservatory of Performing Arts

A celebration of dance, drama, music, acting, and musical theatre by award winning students to create a magical evening for all to enjoy! Saturday, March 10th, at 7pm at Whipple Hall (on the corner of Main Street and Seamans Road) in New London.

March 24th – “Revels Spring Sing”

Revels North presents: “Sing in the Spring: Songs and Stories to Awaken and Balance!” Join Revels North Artistic Director Nils Fredland and a multi-generational chorus of singers for a program featuring traditional songs of the season, from ethereal to earthy. Revels North performances are always colorful, powerful, polished, varied, and fun. Participation is a hallmark of the Revels experience. You may find yourself so swept up in the action, you’re singing right along…and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Join us! Saturday, March 24th, at 7pm at Whipple Hall (on the corner of Main Street and Seamans Road) in New London.
