Open House at Eleven Bank Street

Saturday, December 5, 11:00am – 4:00pm

 

AVA Gallery and Art Center—along with artists who have studios in AVA’s Carter-Kelsey building at 11 Bank Street in Lebanon, NH—invite the public to a free Open House on Saturday, December 5, from 11am to 4pm.

Visitors may stroll through our art-filled galleries, engage in art activities, watch artist demonstrations, hear live music, learn about AVA’s “green” building, and enjoy unique glimpses into working artists’ studios. Light refreshments will be served.

AVA’s Holiday Sale and Exhibition will be on display during the Open House, featuring artwork in a rich variety of media. Adding to this ideal opportunity for holiday shopping, AVA will also feature a “Snow Globe Extravaganza,” with CoolSnowGlobes made by artists Liz Ross and David Westby.

AVA’s popular Community Arts Open Studio (CAOS) will be offered from 11:00am to 4:00pm; the customary $5 participation fee will be waived for the Open House.

AVA’s Carter-Kelsey building houses twenty individual artists’ studios, and a number of these will be open for all or part of the Open House, allowing for fascinating, behind-the-scenes glimpses into the working environments that stimulates the artists’ creative processes.

AVA’s teaching studios will also be open and staff, faculty and board members will be on hand to answer questions.

Anyone interested in learning more about AVA’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold-Certified building is encouraged to explore the facility to learn about the various improvements and initiatives that were implemented during the building’s renovation to make Eleven Bank Street – now known as the Carter-Kelsey building – one of the most energy efficient buildings in the Upper Valley. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about the plans that will be made possible by AVA’s current Branching Out, Deepening Roots capital campaign, These plans include a new facility for three-dimensional studies and an additional gallery space on the first floor of AVA’s existing Carter-Kelsey building at 11 Bank Street.

AVA Gallery and Art Center/Alliance for the Visual Arts is a non-profit organization representing Vermont and New Hampshire artists.  Located at 11 Bank Street right off Colburn Park in Lebanon, NH, the gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 5pm; Thursdays from 11am to 7pm and by appointment; closed on Sundays and Mondays.
